Inspired to try a New Style?

The key to carrying off a bold new style is to step out with your head held high, knowing that you look great. But you need to take a few preliminary steps to build up your confidence.

Step 1: Make a mood board for your look

This is the first thing that the fashion houses do to establish the feel of their latest collection. Gather together photos of women who are style icons, pictures of inspirational works of art, scraps of patterns and fabric swatches. Tear out magazine photos of garments that you would love to wear. Glue, pin or tape them all together onto a 'board of inspiration' and put it on your dressing table.

Different Styles of Desks Throughout History

A rather versatile price of furniture is the desk. A desk typically has a section that functions as a table and then also contains a storage area. Desks tend to be used for writing or computer use. Most items stored in the desk are stationary, office supplies and other items of business. Desks will have the drawers to one side and the table on the other so a person can sit underneath it and have access to everything.

There are several types of desks besides this more classic table style. A portable desk is very much just like a board that can be put on your lap and used when travelling. You can find an armoire desk inside your wardrobe and this desk does not have a table. There are desks that sit multiple people as a partner's desk is like two desks facing each other joined together, this also goes by the name of a double desk.

Get Your Fashion Statement Right With the Right Choice of Eyewear

I know you have your eyes set on the beautiful receptionist working at your office or if you are a girl, you might have a thing or two going for the man in the executive post. Have you ever wondered why you fell for them so quickly and easily? Was it because they are extra nice to you and took time to reciprocate your boss related dilemmas or maybe helped you complete your pending work without exceeding the deadline? No, I firmly believe that can't be it. I have a little theory going, which says that you fell for them because they were sharp, confident and pretty. And in an office environment, it is highly probable that the person you have a crush on, boasts a pair of spectacles. Now doesn't this sound really bizarre, that a few years ago, spectacle wearers were mocked downright for being nerdy and geeky and now, everybody has the hots for them? How did this happen? Did it happen overnight?

Designer Handbag Selection

When it comes to the world of high fashion and style, a quality handbag can cost you anywhere from the thousands, to the hundreds of thousands. This is why it is so important to make the right decision. More often than not, there is only room in the budget for a couple of these bags, and you do not want to regret such an investment.

Designer Handbags — Keep Your Figure in Mind

A good handbag should not just be looked at as a short-term investment for your wardrobe, but rather a long-term investment for the legacy of your style. Speaking from experience, my grandmother left me dozens of vintage designer bags that are worth much more now than they were in the '70s. This is why it is so important to make the best decision possible. Not only can a quality bag be a great heirloom, it can also be a source of inspiration for your future kin.

School Uniform - Should It Be Abolished?

I have attended so many different schools with such varied uniform policies; I am probably one of a select few with personal experience of both sides of the argument. I attended, in total, eighteen schools during the course of my education, due to my parents’ habit of moving every few months.

Someone once asked me if my parents were criminals on the run from the law, to have moved so often, but in fact my father was one who always took the opportunities offered him and as a result my brother and I led a somewhat gypsy like existence for the better part of our early childhood.
